IPL 2021 RCB Players List
Royal Challengers Bangalore 2021 team
RCB team 2021 players list is placed here. The Challengers have been dubbed the bridesmaids of the Indian Premier League as they have never won the tournament, but they have finished as runners-up on three separate occasions. They have been a very up and down side over the years, and this is highlighted by the fact that they hold the records for the highest (263) and the lowest (49) totals scored in an IPL match. IPL 2021 players list: Full squad of Royal Challengers Bangalore is placed below.
After three Barton seasons between 2017 and 2019, where they failed to make the playoffs and came bottom of the standings twice, RCB made some progress last year by finishing the season in fourth place. This gives them something to build upon this year, and they have certainly been making waves in the auction. They are captained by the Indian captain Virat Kohli and coached by Simon Katich.
Although RCB showed improvement last season, they still felt the need for an overhaul, and they released some big names to go into the auction with a big-spending budget. Their Australian limited-overs captain Aaron Finch was let go. He will not feature in this year’s tournament as he wasn’t picked up by any teams. They also let go Moeen Ali, Dale Steyn, Umesh Yadav, and Chris Morris, who has now become the highest-paid player in IPL history.
Although there are some big names on the list of players released, it gave them excellent spending power in the auction. They used it to fend off their opponents, especially in the pursuit of Glenn Maxwell, as a bidding war broke out for his signature. He was eventually signed for Rs. 14.25 Crore. They also went big to bring in Kyle Jamieson, who cost them Rs. 15 Crore. They picked up Daniel Christian for Rs. 4.8 Crore and then spent around Rs. 1 Crore on five players to fill up their squad.
RCB has made some bold moves in the auction, which they have done over the years. Some may see Glenn Maxwell’s purchase as a risk at such a hefty price after he disappointed last season. Still, there is no denying that he is one of the best all-rounders in the business. Looking at their top order, it seems that they will once again be reliant on Kohli and De Villiers. When they failed to fire last season, so did the Challengers, which could be the case once again this season. I see them having a similar season as last year.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore are one of the most followed teams in the Indian Premier League but they are yet to deliver a title to their fans. Will the 2021 edition of the IPL be the one in which they finally win the tournament after having performed decently in the previous season? A lot of eyes will be on the RCB team 2021 squad given how they have managed to mess things up every season, especially with their bowling department. The bottom line still remains that RCB need to allow their batsmen to bat freely and the only way they can do that is to bring in a match-winning bowler to their line-up.
