IPL Broadcaster Rights 2023- Star Sports in India

IPL 2023 broadcaster rights for TV channel broadcasting (worldwide) are placed here. The Indian Premier League needs no introduction. The presence of the Goliath of domestic cricket can be seen and felt across the globe with its flavor being international. With ever-increasing viewership statistics being recorded owing to the exhilarating style of cricket played, the ‘wow’ factor of the IPL is at an all-time high. IPL 2023 is to begin on March 31st and will conclude on the 28 of May 2023.

Star Sports Network will broadcast the IPL 2023 games on Television. Star paid a total of 23,575 crores to BCCI to purchase TV broadcasting rights in India for the next 5 years. It will televise 74 matches in 2023 and 2024. It will broadcast 84 matches in 2025 and 2026, and then 94 matches will be broadcast live in 2027.  Star India will broadcast the tournament in 6 languages (English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Bengali) on 10 Star Sports channels. IPL can turn around the fortunes of any broadcasting firm. Let’s wait and see what the new folks manage to do with it.

Evision has acquired the broadcasting rights for IPL 2023 in the Middle East and North Africa Region. With the increasing popularity of the Indian Premier  League, fans will now be able to watch IPL via  the channel named CricLife1 available on StarzPlay

In the UK, the Sky network is showing this tournament via Sky Sports Cricket and Sky Sports Mix channels, while in the USA, Willow TV has been awarded Media rights. Although the Pakistan players won’t be able to play the tournament to be held in the country due to the differences between the two nations. In Singapore, StarHub will broadcast the entire tournament at either 6 pm or 10 pm streamed exclusively over India’s video streaming app Hotstar.

StarHub customers on a 12 or 24-month Indian+ plan can watch all IPL matches through Hotstar at no additional cost. Customers can sign up for an Indian+ Pass at $0 for the first three months (subsequently $15 per month) and enjoy up to 24 months of Hotstar at no extra cost. Existing StarHub Mobile or Fibre Broadband customers can add on Hotstar at $0 for the first three months and $5.83 monthly thereafter. This deal applies to a 12-month contract with Hotstar.

So as IPL 16 is about to kick off, the broadcasters will be hoping that this tournament is a bigger success than ever and their TRP and broadcasting rights go to a new level that will also increase their monetary value.

IPL Fan Parks in your city:  BCCI is also looking forward to reopening the fan parks this year.  As per previous years, fans can witness an IPL stadium-like experience in the company of thousands of other fans throughout IPL 2023. The matches will be streamed on giant screens. Entry is free and on a first-come-first-serve basis. With access to food and beverage stalls and music, the fans will be able to feel like they are in the stadium – a carnival-like atmosphere. There will also be special areas earmarked for women and children.

IPL 16 not only brings delight to the band of cricket lovers with its enticing concept. It also brings a smile to the broadcaster’s face with an earnest promise of a goldmine. Now, it is all down to players to make IPL 2023 an event to remember.

  6. Obviously not , IPL can’t be watched on Star Sports First but can bè watched out on other channels star sports.
    On free dish 1 match every week can be observed with 1 hour delay.
