Rajasthan ipl team 2015

Rajasthan Royals team for ipl 2015 is placed here. They have been the most consistent team throughout all the editions of the IPL. They won the inaugural edition of the IPL in 2008 under the leadership of Australian spin wizard Shane Warne. Nobody expected them to go so far in the tournament, leave alone winning, but they surprised every body by going on to win the trophy.

Rajasthan Royals, like Chennai Super Kings, have also been in news even after the IPL for spot-fixing, even after the arrest of three players of the team in 2013. However, the winners of the first edition of the Indian Premier League are captained by Australian Shane Watson and have maintained the tradition of including fresh and uncapped players. The team finished fifth in the previous season and decided to release five players for the IPL 8, giving them a purse of Rs 13 crore for the upcoming auctions. List of released players includes veteran Brad Hodge, West Indies all-rounder Kevon Cooper, Ankit Sharma, Amit Sharma and Ankush Bains.  Hodge got associated with the team in the IPL 2012 and brought along his invaluable experience added strength to the middle order. To buy rajasthan royals tickets online 2015, click here – RR Tickets.

While their spinner Iqbal Abdullah has moved to Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians have also acquired Parthiv Patel and Unmukt Chand from the franchisee. The squad has been consistent with their performance in almost all the seasons. As the new seasons awaits, all eyes will be on all-rounder Shane Watson who has been brilliant in both batting and bowling departments. Among the other players who have been retained, Ajinkya Rahane and James Faulkner will also be expected to perform well in the IPL season 8. While the former is a good batsman, the latter being a right-arm medium fast bowler can be trusted with bowling skills.

Team of Rajasthan Royals 2015 – Players to Watch for

Shane Watson – The Australian all-rounder has the ability to win matches with both bat and the ball. He has always been a consistent player for the franchise and was the man of the tournament in the first edition thus helping his team to lift the trophy. He was brilliant with both bat and the ball.

Ajinkya Rahane – He is another player who has been very good for the franchise with the bat. He provides the team with a good start at the top of the order and was the leading run scorer for them in the last edition of the tournament. He is also very agile in the field and saves lot of runs, thus helping his bowlers to build up pressure.

James Faulkner – This right arm medium fast bowler from down under has very quickly transformed himself from a bowler to an all-rounder in the Australian line up. He has great variations of slower ball and yorker and is very useful in the end overs. Recently in an ODI series against England, he single handedly won them the match with the bat after the top order failed to deliver and the match looked gone for all money in the 3rd ODI. The franchise will be expecting the same all-round performance from him.

Surprise PackageSteven Smith – His emergence as a batsman has been a revolution for the Australian team in the recent past. He was brilliant for them in the Ashes and was the go to man along with Haddin when in trouble. He scored a classy hundred in Perth that proved his credentials as a batsman. Not to forget his ability in the field, he is at present the best fielder in the world cricket and saves a lot of runs for his team. Franchise bought him at a price of INR 4 crores in the auction.

Strengths – The biggest strength of this roster is its composition with all the bases being covered and possessing plenty of all–rounders. Another thing that works in their favor is that they play as a unit without any sort of ego clashes amongst their team members. The Sawai Man Singh stadium is a fortress for them and they are almost unbeatable here.

When looking at the Indian talent in the lineup Ajiknya Rahane, Sanju Samson and Stuart Binny have time and again produced good performances for the team. Stuart Binny has improved leaps and bounds and was in exceptional form last season.

Weakness – There is no such weak point in this unit. The only problem is that their Indian recruits are very young and inexperienced.

Besides, Rahul Dravid who retired from all forms of cricket in 2013, will continue to be their mentor for yet another year. Dravid, who played for Royals, before retirement, will be a great inspiration for the players and young talent. Rajasthan Royals players list 2015 is placed below.
