The competition saw the Mumbai Indians set the early pace and while they suffered a minor blip towards the end when they lost a couple of games in a row, they did well to wrap things up with a victory against the fellow qualifiers Kolkata Knight Riders to make the IPL playoffs. They finished at the top of the table with 20 points. The IPL 2017 playoffs tickets price range from INR 1000 to INR 14,000 for Qualifier 1. The ticket prices for the Eliminator and Qualifier 2 range from INR 1500 to INR Rs 20,000.
On the other hand, the Rising Pune Supergiant seemed to have had a woeful start to the competition but MS Dhoni looked to have turned things for them for starters with a win over the Sunrisers Hyderabad. This was followed by Ben Stokes showing great form with both, the bat and the ball to transform his side’s fortunes and guide them to the second spot in the playoffs, which saw them crush the Kings XI Punjab in their final league game. Had they lost that game, Pune would have crashed out.
Both Kolkata and Hyderabad had looked good to make the playoffs early in the competition and while they did manage to do that, it wasn’t before surviving some hiccups towards the end. Kolkata, in particular, won’t be happy making it to the playoffs with two defeats in two games and skipper Gautam Gambhir was quite scathing about those losses.
The big question now is can the Mumbai Indians or Kolkata Knight Riders make it their third IPL title, or will the Sunrisers Hyderabad defend and make it two in a row? Pune are in their final edition of the competition and they will hope to end the IPL on a high.
The grand finale will be hosted at Hyderabad on Sunday. To make sure that you do not miss out on any part of the action, book your IPL playoffs tickets now via Bookmyshow (links above).
