The IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore is owned by Vijay Mallaya and the team is led by Captain Daniel Vettori with Ray Jennings heading the coaching department and Venkatesh Prasad is the bowling coach. The team has turned out quite formidable under the captaincy of Vettori although it was unable to make a mark in IPL 2008 but eventually the team has shown great character with some remarkable performances in the past seasons, in fact they reached the finals against Mumbai Indians in the last season and unfortunately lost the title to the opposition.

RCB Players to Watch Out For at IPL 5

Zaheer Khan, Virat Kohli, Abhimanyu Mithun, Suarabh Tiwary, Arun Karthik, Jamaluddin Syed Mohammad are some of the promising stars of the team. Auctions marked the entry of A Muttiah Muralitharan to the team at the price of $220,000.Vinay Kumar, medium pacer from Karnataka found takers in Royal Challengers for $1 million. They are expected to put up a show to cherish a lifetime.

Chris Gayle, Virat Kohli, Dilshan and AB de Villiers are the key batsmen who can turn around the game anytime. Pick of the bowlers will obviously be the teams’ spearhead Zaheer Khan, Muralitharan and captain Vettori. After the bitter loss in the finals of the last season RCB would be looking to continue where they left and they would come strongly this time to claim the title.

Team’s Strengths and Weaknesses

RCB’s strength is its attitude in few players like Kohli and Dilshan who are actually neighbor’s envy kind of players. And mind you these two can take the avatar of a bowler should the team demand, and both of them have amazingly quick hands on field. RCB’s weakness is their bowling and it costed them the finals in the last season. I hope the new add ons Vinay Kumar and Murali will fill in bowling deficit although I don’t have great expectations from Muralitharan. I doubt Gayle’s top form this season and if you don’t take me nasty my hunch says that he’d miserably fail at the IPL 2012.
