What happened last year…

Vivo IPL 2018 opening ceremony Mumbai tickets booking online details placed here. India’s biggest cricketing festival is just a few days away. It promises to be the biggest glitterati show ever hosted in India. The IPL opening ceremony will take place on April 7, 6:15 pm IST onwards and yet again it is expected to be a huge event that will start the world’s best T20 cricket competition with a bang. During the IPL inauguration, cricket meets entertainment, and we are going to see some big names from the world of Bollywood on stage and entertaining those who are watching. The IPL opening ceremony 2018 tickets are available on Bookmyshow.

Varun Dhawan, Hrithik Roshan and Jacqueline Fernandez will all perform for the fans during a 45-minute show that will take place at the Wankhede Stadium. Ranveer Singh ruled out due to a shoulder injury. This will take place before the opening game on April 7, which sees defending champions Mumbai take on the Chennai Super Kings. The stadium will be decked like a bride and the city is viewing brewing revelry of anticipation among the commoners. A total full house is expected at the venue with millions tuning in on televisions broadcast on the following channels – Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 HD, Star Sports Select 1, Star Sports Select 1 HD (English Commentary), Star Sports 1 Hindi and Star Sports 1 Hindi HD (Hindi commentary). Will also be available on live streaming sites such as Hotstar and Jio.

Traditionally the captains of each club would attend this event, although that has been changed due to planning and transport issues this season. The only two captains in attendance will be those taking part in the game, which is Rohit Sharma from MI and MS Dhoni from the CSK. Others would have found getting to the ground, and back home very difficult, especially as games are scheduled for the afternoon after the event. While it is disappointing to see that players will miss out on the experience, preparing for their first game of the tournament is much more important.

The captains from each club will all record a video message for fans prior to the event on April 6, and these will be played during the opening ceremony. While the players themselves will probably not mind about missing the ceremony, and instead can focus on their cricket, fans are the ones missing out on seeing their stars.

The IPL season is about to begin, and we are just days away from what is sure to be an exciting few weeks of cricket. There are so many stories going into the tournament, and everyone has their own favourite who they think can win the event. The talking is almost over, and very shortly the players can show us exactly what they have, and if they are genuine IPL contenders.

The opening ceremony is always dramatic, and it looks like it will be no different for 2018. Expect a huge show, with some big stars taking part, but unfortunately only two captains.

The Indian Premier League is the complete package, dazzling cricket, fun, entertainment, dance and music. The complete cricketing world comes together for two months for celebrating this cricketing festival. The opening ceremony is one of the biggest ceremonies of the tournament.
